Modern wedding entertainment at Butler Lane
Tucked away down a secluded lane in the heart of Richmond, Butler Lane is a brilliant warehouse conversion that pairs an industrial vibe with a gorgeous green courtyard. With its high-beamed ceilings, polished concrete floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s a versatile canvas for couples who want a city wedding with a relaxed feel.
Because we know the venue and its transitions well, we know exactly how to manage the sound and timing as your guests move from afternoon drinks outside into the main indoor space. We keep things atmospheric and casual for your garden arrival before shifting inside to focus 100% on keeping the dance floor moving once the formal items wrap up.
Why we love Butler Lane
-
Seamless courtyard-to-warehouse transition
The best thing about Butler Lane is how the expansive outdoor courtyard leads straight into the main warehouse. For ceremonies and cocktail hour, we can set up a compact audio setup outside near the green wall to set the vibe while your guests sip drinks. When it’s time for dinner, the transition inside feels completely natural, and your guests don’t have to travel to a different area of Melbourne.
-
Layout flexibility for packing the dance floor
Whether you’re hosting a massive cocktail party or more intimate sit down reception, the open-plan layout works beautifully. The DJ is usually set up in the top corner of the room, looking down to the dance floor, which means they can read the room with ease. Because the venue has white walls, coloured mood lighting works very well to create ambience early on and fantastic energy for the party later.
-
Straightforward city logistics and built-in AV
Unlike a lot of inner-city laneway venues, loading into Butler Lane is very straightforward for vendors, which makes the pre-event setup behind the scenes completely seamless. The venue features its own built-in Bose sound system and wireless microphones, which are excellent for background music and speech clarity during dinner. When it’s time to switch into proper party mode, we use our own professional sound system tailored specifically for the warehouse dance floor.
-
Built-in heating, cooling, and weather backups
Melbourne weather loves to play up, but Butler Lane is completely prepped for it. The outdoor courtyard features dedicated heating to keep guests comfortable during evening cocktail hour, while the indoor warehouse space has full industrial climate control. If the weather forces a last-minute change to an indoor ceremony, the open floorplan allows the venue team to pivot the layout quickly without disrupting the setup.

What do our clients say?
On the wedding night the music was amazing, the vibes were high, I am so happy we booked her as our MC as the flow of the night was perfect.
Really candid and natural ceremony and she was an amazing celebrant.
Would definitely recommend booking for all three services if you’re getting married
Aleks completely understood the brief: gay divas party vibes from start to finish! Her expertise in reading the room, choosing the right songs, and keeping the dancefloor full all night was honestly incredible. We had guests telling us afterwards how much fun they had dancing, and that’s a huge credit to her.
We also loved the extra services she offered. The dancefloor lighting completely transformed the space and created the perfect party atmosphere, and the audio guest book has become one of our favourite keepsakes from the night. Being able to hear heartfelt (and hilarious!) messages from our family and friends is something we’ll treasure forever.
If you’re looking for a DJ who is organised, easy to work with, genuinely cares about creating an amazing experience, and knows exactly how to keep the party going, we couldn’t recommend One More Song and Aleks more highly. Thank you for making our wedding unforgettable!

She completely understood our slightly tricky mix of music tastes and somehow managed to create the perfect soundtrack for the night. She played such a big part in making our wedding feel so special and memorable.
Thank you so much Aleks!
We couldn't recommend you more highly for anyone planning their wedding.
Eddy was also kind enough to film our first look as he was setting up during the moment, a moment we will forever have on video now. Thank you so much, Eddy!
From our very first meeting, Aleks totally got our vibe. In the lead-up to the big day, her communication and support were excellent, and we felt like we were in very safe hands the entire time.
On the night itself, we genuinely had the absolute best time and everyone (and we mean literally EVERYONE) was raving to us for weeks after about how amazing the tunes were. From the moment the dance floor opened, it was packed, and it stayed that way all night. Our siblings slipped downstairs for a bit and told us they could see the ceiling vibrating from the dance floor absolutely popping off. It got to the end of the night and we even had to arrange an impromptu wedding exit just to get people off the dance floor...we reckon everyone could have kept going for hours more! The vibes were unreal and we had an absolute blast 💥
We can't recommend Aleks and One More Song highly enough!

We got so much positive feedback from our friends and family, with lots of people asking if we had made the playlist ourselves because it felt so perfectly “us.” On the day, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Eddy took care of everything and coordinated with our venue seamlessly, which made the whole night completely stress-free. He was an absolute highlight and helped make the party one of the best parts of the day.
From our very first enquiry we knew we were in good hands. Everything was so easy and straight forward which was a big help during the wedding planning process, knowing that you have professionals who have your back and care about providing the best possible experience!
We booked DJ and MC services and we loved how effortlessly the night flowed.
The dancefloor was everything we wanted and more, the music was perfect with all of our favourite songs. Everyone is still talking about how good the dancefloor was!
Thank you again Aleks, we hope we'll see you at another wedding soon!
