Real wedding: Stylish celebration with DJ and sax

Categories Real weddings.
10 Nov, 2020

Natalie and Brandon got married at one of our favourite inner city Melbourne venues, Glasshaus Inside. DJ Aleks Mac and sax player Kat provided the tunes for this ultra stylish wedding. As always at Glasshaus, the dance floor went off! The wedding also featured in Ivory’s Tribe’s real wedding blog. Read on to find out more.

The venue

Botanical wonderland Glasshaus is a venue like no other. It offers two gorgeous spaces – Glasshaus Outside and Glasshaus Inside – both of which are working nurseries during the day. Glasshaus Inside is perfect for a cocktail style wedding, with a snug dance floor space we just love!

The vendors

Legendary caterers Fat and Skinny Catering provided the reception catering and bar. Aleksandar Jason took the stunning pictures you see in this blog, and his wife Chantelle filmed the affair under the banner Atti & O. Tunes for the ceremony were provided by acoustic duo darlings Tobi Tobi. And of course we provided DJ and sax for the reception!

The music brief

Natalie and Brandon requested a crowd-pleasing mix of oldies, 80s, disco, classic house and 90s. And of course some songs with epic saxophone solos (read more in our blog on sax bangers for inspiration)! They had a really fun crowd and the dance floor was packed. Song of the night? Gimme Gimme Gimme by ABBA, followed closely by Jubel by Klingande!

Their key moment songs (which you can listen to in our below Spotify playlist) were a fun combination of old and new, upbeat and slow:

  • Bridal party entrances: Crazy in Love – Beyonce
  • Bride and groom entrance: Believe – Cher
  • Father daughter/Mother son dance: Moon River – Andy Williams
  • First dance: Beyond – Leon Bridges
  • Final song: The Horses – Daryl Braithwaite.

The feedback

Natalie and Brandon danced the night away and their guests absolutely loved the sax. Here’s what Natalie had to say about us in the Ivory Tribe feature:

“Aleks from One More Song was amazing to deal with, we met her for drinks and talked about the vibe we wanted and felt totally at ease leaving it up to her and she didn’t disappoint, I don’t think I left the dance floor all night, and adding in Kat on the sax was worth every cent! The live sounds of the saxophone still make us smile!”
