As a couple who appreciate the finer things in life, Billie and Nick had no trouble settling on Panama Dining Room for their April 2021 wedding. One More Song provided a DJ, sax and percussionist – the perfect combo for a three-and-a-half-hour dance floor!

Read on for more about this stunning real wedding.

The venue

It’s no surprise that Panama Dining Room is one of the most sought after inner city venues in Melbourne. Situated in trendy Fitzroy on Smith Street, the space is versatile enough to hold your entire wedding – ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dance floor – and it’s just so damn gorgeous. Its famous arched window provides the perfect backdrop for getting hitched.

Billie and Nick and their guests enjoyed the venue for the entirety of the event from pre-ceremony drinks through to final song!

The vendors

Charismatic wedding celebrant Precious both married the couple and acted as MC for the reception. She kept the night running smoothly and even stayed on for a boogie! Joel from White Rabbit Productions took the beautiful photos you see in this blog while Tremella Botanicals provided the warm florals adorning the venue and wedding party and Cloth and Confetti Hire matched the florals with their incredible styling.

Knockout bride Billie wore a slinky gown from Kyha Studios, with her classic Hollywood hairstyle complemented by make-up artist’s Sarah McMaster‘s equally glam look.

The music brief

Billie and Nick’s key moment songs all had a soulful feel:

  • Ceremony aisle song for bridesmaids: River – Leon Bridges
  • Aisle song for the bride: Feeling Good – Nina Simone
  • Recessional song: I Can’t Help Myself – The Four Tops
  • Bride and groom entrance: Hold On, I’m Comin’ – Sam & Dave
  • First dance: Take Care Of Business – Nina Simone
  • Final song: Ring Of Fire – Johnny Cash.

For dance floor, Billie and Nick just wanted their wedding to be a massive party! The couple had varied music tastes with disco, soul, EDM, house and RnB dominating the dance floor. The saxophone and percussion took things to the next level, keeping the energy extra high until the night was done at 1am!
