Real wedding: Lucy + Anthony’s perfect day at Coombe Estate

Categories Real weddings.
21 Jun, 2021

After postponing their wedding not once, but two times due to COVID-19 lockdowns, Melbourne couple Lucy and Anthony could not be more excited when the day finally rolled round in April 2021. And it was well worth the wait – the couple, their friends and family enjoyed a perfect day.

The venue

Lucy and Anthony chose Coombe Estate in Yarra Valley for their big day. Everything was on site, which meant that guests didn’t have to travel elsewhere at any point during the day. They had their ceremony in the Italian Garden, followed by drinks and canapes on the Croquet Lawn. Their reception was a seated affair in the restaurant, with everyone hitting the dance floor after formalities were over.

The vendors

The incredibly talented Katie Harmsworth took photos, assisted by second shooter Eric Ronald (who just so happens to be her partner!).

And that wedding dress, oh my! You can thank Collingwood designer Suzanne Harward for that one! 🙂

Adelaide Clarke Duo provided pre-ceremony vibes, ceremony key songs and post-ceremony tunes.

DJ Eddy Mac was behind the decks to soundtrack the night, joined by Hugo on percussion during dance floor.

The music brief

The couple kept things simple and elegant for their pre-ceremony vibes, opting for a solo guitarist before their singer joined him for the ceremony. For post-ceremony vibes, Lucy and Anthony wanted an “English summer party, G&T’s in the garden” vibe.

Key moment songs for the ceremony:

  • Aisle song: Songbird (Acoustic) – John Adams
  • Signing certificate songs: Runaway (Acoustic) – The Coors and Fast Car (Acoustic) – Tracey Chapman
  • Ceremony finish song: Hold On (We’re Going Home) (Acoustic) – Drake.

Although the couple had a sit down dinner, Eddy Mac kept the vibe upbeat and fun throughout. There were multiple occasions where people were dancing away in the seats and on their way to and from the bathroom (which we LOVE). Lucy and Anthony were big fans of the 80s and artists like Womack & Womack, Chaka Khan, George Michael and Tina Arena. In fact, one of the high points of the dance floor was when Eddy dropped Sorrento Moon – a huge crowd pleaser!

Key moment songs for the reception:

  • Wedding party entrances: Higher Love – Whitney Houston (Kygo Mix)
  • First dance: La Isla Bonita – Madonna
  • Party starter: All Night Long (All Night) – Lionel Richie
  • Final song – Africa – Toto.

All in all, it was a night of laughter, dancing and love. The perfect day for such a lovely couple and well worth the extended wait!
