Real wedding: A colourful cocktail party at Post Office Hotel!

Nellie and Jedd got hitched at one of our favourite local wedding venues, the Post Office Hotel in Coburg. Their wedding was a fun and colourful affair and featured on the Ivory Tribe blog.
If you’re planning a relaxed wedding and want some inspiration, read on!
The planning process
Bride Nellie told Ivory Tribe: “Our planning process was straightforward. We wanted the day to be relaxed for everyone (including us!), so we kept that at the heart of all our decisions.
“We locked in the venue straight away and then most vendors right after that. It meant that for most of the time in the lead-up to the wedding, there wasn’t much to do (except save!) until about a month or two before the wedding.
“I mainly used Instagram for inspiration – it’s how we found all our vendors. I would end up down a rabbit hole on Ivory Tribe, Hello May and then other couples’ weddings. Seeing how everyone celebrates love in so many unique ways was the best reminder that there’s no right or wrong way to do a wedding!”
The venue
Nellie and Jedd wanted a warm and relaxed feel for their wedding. Their choice of inner city venue Post Office Hotel was just perfect! Both the ceremony and reception took place at the venue, which has multiple spaces to hold all parts of your big day. It even has a private beer garden!

The other vendors
Nellie and Jedd’s epic vendor team reflected the couple and the vibe they wanted to create at their wedding.
Their vendors included:
- Our own DJ Aleks Mac for reception tunes (with our lights also booked for extra energy!)
- Celebrant: Wendy Does Weddings
- Streamer installation and arbour: Bangin Hangins
- Florals: Pomp and Splendour
- Photography: Miranda Stokkel
- Videography: Iconic Pictures
- Cake: Mad About Cakes.
The music!
As with the rest of their day, Nellie and Jedd wanted the reception to be one huge party! They requested a fun mix of tunes for everyone – from 90s and noughties RnB and pop through to disco and 70s pop rock. The result was a full dance floor with guests dancing the night away!
