Real wedding: Jelena + Tim’s Euro summer inspired nuptials

Categories Real weddings.
14 Dec, 2020

Jelena and Tim got hitched at the picturesque Euroa Butter Factory. Although just under two hours from Melbourne CBD, you feel like you’ve been transported to the European countryside! It was perfect sunny weather all day and guests danced the balmy night away to tunes by DJ Aleks Mac.

Our friends at Ivory Tribe covered this real wedding in their blog. Read on for more about this special day in our own words!

The venue

As described on the Euroa Butter Factory website, the venue is a “lovingly restored grand old building has been transformed from an old butter and ice factory into a fabulous country retreat suitable for a weekend away, a special event or somewhere to while away a few hours in the garden”.

Clients are spoiled for choice with a number of areas to choose for their big day (The Old Factory Floor, Hedged Garden, Engine Room, Delivery Room and Undercover Courtyard). It’s one of our favourite venues outside of Melbourne (for more inspiration, read our blog on regional Victorian wedding venues we adore).

The vendors

Stylist Wanderlust Creative created the perfect aesthetic for the day across the three different areas. Rockstar celebrant Anthony Cribbes married the couple, with photographer Beck Rocchi behind the lens (with assistance from Jess Nicholls) and Humdrum Films capturing epic video footage (see below!). Euroa Butter Factory provided the catering! Lastly, we provided the tunes! DJ Aleks Mac played music for the ceremony and reception, with fun Brasshouse trio Not My Circus playing in between.

The music brief

Jelena and Tim’s guests wanted to party! So the focus was on fun, crowd-pleasing tunes. Their music brief included oldies, RnB Fridays, 70s / disco, 80s, fun 90s dance, current bangers and pub rock singalongs for later in the night.

Jelena also had some Bosnian song requests for her family. These went down really well with everyone on the dance floor. (Read our blog on how to incorporate cultural music into your big day for tips on nailing this for your own wedding!).

Their key moment songs (which you can listen to in our below Spotify playlist) were a mix of classic and new:

  • Ceremony aisle song: Can’t Help Falling in Love – Kina Grannis
  • Ceremony finish song (performed by the trio): Walking on Sunshine – Katrina & The Waves
  • Wedding party entrances: Paradise – George Ezra
  • Father/daughter dance: Because You Loved Me – Celine Dion
  • First dance: Just You & I – Tom Walker
  • Dance floor starter: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye & Tami Terrell
  • Final song: All Night Long – Lionel Ritchie.

The feedback

The lovely couple danced with guests all night. Here’s what groom Tim had to say about us in their Google review:

“Aleks was absolutely incredible on the biggest day of our lives. She had the whole party up dancing and singing and went above and beyond when working with us and our vendors to ensure that we had the most stress free and amazing experience. Us and all that were at our wedding will remember it forever and the music made it all the more special.”
