Real wedding: Jess + Antony’s chic Prince Deck wedding
Categories Real weddings.26 Dec, 2020
Lovebirds Jess and Antony had a clear vision for their wedding right from the start. Put simply: throw a stylish and unforgettable party! The couple had recently moved from Perth to Melbourne so they wanted to show their guests from the west-side the time of their lives!
You can read more about their wedding in a blog post from Nouba.
The venue
Jess and Antony had their hearts set on St Kilda’s Prince Deck, and the venue (and weather) did not disappoint! They wanted their ceremony and reception to be in the same place so that friends and family didn’t have to move during the day. The Prince Deck ticked all of their boxes. They got hitched in the sunshine on the deck outside and enjoyed drinks and canapes in the same area, before moving inside for a sit down dinner prior to dancing the night away!
The vendors
Stylist The Eventurer pulled together the couple’s vision of a ‘black and white with pops of colour’ theme for their wedding. Photo ninja Sabine Legrand nailed the photography! She captured the energy and emotions of the day flawlessly. The lovely Lara Williams was their celebrant. And Tilda Flowers rocked it in the blooms department! Eddy Mac from One More Song spun their favourite tunes.
The music brief
Jess and Antony had a great idea of the musical vibe they wanted right from the start. Simply put, they wanted the tunes to be fun, energetic and sure to get guests on the d-floor! They had loads of fun with their key songs for entrances – even choosing songs to be played for friends and family before each of their speeches! Honorable mention here goes to a set of parents walking up to the lectern to White Wedding – Billy Idol.
Key moment songs:
- Bridesmaids entrance: Run The World (Girls) – Beyonce
- Groomsmen entrance: Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell Williams
- Jess and Antony entrance: Bring ‘Em Out – TI
- First dance: Ocean – Mike Perry
- Final tune: On Top Of The World – Imagine Dragons.
For the general music brief, Jess and Antony were all about the old school anthems and R&B throwbacks! Artists like Nelly, 50 Cent and The Weeknd had the dance floor pumping. Later in the night, old school anthems like You’re The Voice and Holy Grail brought everyone together, belting out all the lyrics. In all, it was a super fun crowd that was definitely up for a party!
