The Celebrant/DJ/MC timeline and how it all works

So, you’ve booked us as your “Triple Threat” celebrant/DJ/MC for your wedding – woo! We’re super stoked to be part of your big day.

We’re all about making your wedding feel totally you, from the ceremony vibes to the dance floor bangers. Here’s a breakdown of how everything works in the lead up and on the day!

Your party brief

Once we’re booked in, we send through the main party brief questionnaire, where we’ll ask you about:

  • Timings and logistics: Upload your floor plan, run sheet and venue contact details
  • Ceremony inclusions: Tick your optional ceremony bits and pieces (eg. a fast photo minute and Acknowledgement of Country), add any instructions for your guests and pick your key moment songs
  • Music preferences: Let us know your music preference! Select your favourite “vibe playlists” for both the ceremony and reception, tick your favourite genres, throw in your must-play anthems/artists, your do-not-plays and key moment songs.

The cool thing is, you can jump in and out of the party brief whenever you like. Just hit “send response” to save your changes. No stress about getting it perfect right away – we’ll give you a nudge to finalise it before our final catch up.

Ceremony bits and pieces

About four months out, we’ll dive into the ceremony details during an in-person catch up (over a wine, beer, coffee, whatever floats your boat!). We’ll also complete the main legal form that needs to be completed at this stage, the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM).

You’ll receive a quick form a month before that to grab some basic info so we can pre-fill some paperwork – saves you time and faff! We’ll also let you know what ID you need to bring to our meeting.

Love story time: Questionnaires and vows

After our ceremony chat, we’ll send you each a link to a personal questionnaire. Don’t worry, it’s not a test! It just helps us get to know you better and craft a ceremony script that feels authentic and heartfelt.

This is also when you’ll want to start thinking about your vows (if you’re doing them). We’ll talk more about this at our meeting, but basically, it’s your chance to tell each other (and everyone else) how much you rock each other’s worlds. These need to be done at least one month before the big day.

We have some great tips on how to get started with your vows. To make sure your vows are well aligned, we ask you send them through a one month before for us to proof-read and tweak, if needed. This will give us enough time if there’s a bit of back and forth.

It’s the final countdown

The week of your wedding, we’ll have a video call to run through everything one last time (all captured in your party brief) and make sure we’re all on the same page.

Behind the scenes, we are madly working away preparing everything for your wedding, including:

  • Finalising your ceremony script and vows
  • Printing all legal marriage paperwork and your vows (which we put into nice little booklets for you)
  • Meticulously preparing all your music requests and key moment songs, adding in cues and throwing in some of our own surprises
  • Charging and packing all of the equipment we need, including lots of back ups of literally everything!

We’ll be in touch a month before with your final invoice and a link to book this final chat.

The big day: Let’s do this!

It’s here! Let us handle all the official paperwork on the day, so you can just focus on getting married and having an absolute blast.

There are two things we need you to sign on the day:

And then, once you’ve officially been declared married… IT’S PARTY TIME!

We usually take a 30 – 40 minute break during cocktail hour to prepare ourselves for the reception, but we’ll have a curated playlist going whenever we’re not on the decks (unless you have live music looking after tunes for cocktail hour!).

Don’t forget, if you don’t have live music booked, we’ll manage the tunes for you allll day. Read more about how this works.

Post-wedding stuff

While you’re recovering, we still have some work to do! We’ll jump into the government portal to upload all the signed paperwork and register your marriage.

If you’re planning to change your name, you’ll need an additional official marriage certificate ordered – we can do this for a small fee on your behalf.

One last thing…

We might send you a few little emails with helpful tips along the way. But seriously, anytime you have a question, just shoot us a message – we’re here to help make your wedding day epic!
