Get ready to feast your eyes and ears on this one! Isabelle and Andrew got married in March 2024 at The Button Factory in Cheltenham, Melbourne. This music-loving couple put a huge emphasis on the tunes and booked Aleks to look after music for the entire day.

The couple perfectly married (pardon the pun) atmosphere with aesthetic, with styling that signified it was going to be a great day and night. Read on for more about this gorgeous real wedding!

The venue: The Button Factory

The Button Factory is a wedding venue run by event pros Nudo Events. And yes, it used to be a button factory! These days it’s a wedding and events venue that radiates with charm, creativity and character.

There are a number of unique spaces through The Button Factory, both on the ground floor and upstairs. Andrew and Isabelle had their ceremony in The Gallery, with cocktail hour held next door in the indoor garden. Guests then moved upstairs to the beautiful Loft, where they were treated with cocktails and a scrumptious banquet style dinner and of course, danced the night away.

And having Nudo Events was a huge plus as not only do they own a number of venues, they have a number of brands for all things styling and planning too. Win win!

The music

Isabelle and Andrew wanted music to set the tone for the entirety of their big day. Aleks worked closely with them to make sure their brief was really well fleshed out.

We provided sound equipment for the whole wedding. For the ceremony and cocktail hour, we used smaller battery powered speakers (read more about how our ceremony set up works). For the reception, we had our full DJ set up.

The ceremony music

Guests enjoyed romantic, acoustic pre-ceremony tunes as they arrived. Isabelle walked down to an unexpected aisle song to loud cheers: Dreams by The Cranberries. After a heartfelt and hilarious ceremony conducted by one of their good friends, Maddy, the newlyweds made their way back up the aisle to Phil Collins’ You Can’t Hurry Love.

Cocktail hour music

Then it was time for some light and fun Motown, soul and disco for cocktail hour before guests moved upstairs, featuring artists such as Natalie Cole and Otis Redding.

Reception music

Andrew and Isabelle were clear on the musical vibe they wanted for their reception. They liked a bit of everything, both having pretty eclectic tastes, but ultimately, they just wanted everyone to have a good time. Their requests included a mixture of genres and decades.

You can listen Aleks’ reception set list in Spotify at this link or below.

The couple’s first dance song was Kiss Me – Sixpence None The Richer: a sweet 90s favourite!

The styling

A picture tells a thousand words! Check out some photos below, which show off the beautiful styling for Isabelle and Andrew’s day.

The wedding party wore classic black and white. Moody, autumnal florals were contrasted by the modern white walls of the venue and pops of fun, unexpected elements like disco balls, neon signs and our colourful lights.

Other vendors

Andrew and Isabelle’s vendor line up also included:

And finally… A few words from the couple!

Andrew and Isabelle were such a delight to work with, both in the lead up to their wedding, as well as on the day. They were truly excited to get married and celebrate, and put all their trust in their suppliers so they could relax and enjoy the day.

Here’s a snippet of what they had to say about us in their Google Review:

“Having Aleks for the ceremony through to the end of the night ensured our key music moments were executed perfectly and we had the best time on the dance floor – could have kept going for hours more with Aleks behind the decks!”
